Who We Are

Chartered in 1953, Augusta VAH Federal Credit union is a nonprofit organization. We are a member-owned financial institution that exists for the purpose of serving our member’s best interests.

Credit unions are committed to service and have been since their beginning in 1852. from the outside, credit unions may look like banks in many ways, but their primary purpose, service to members, has not changed. Service is found in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and low, if any, fees on other products. It is what makes credit unions different and sets them apart from other financial institutions. It is what makes a member more than just a customer. It is people helping people.

Who Can Join

To join the credit union, simply bring proper identification, complete a membership card, and make a minimum $5.00 deposit into a share/savings account. That initial deposit entitles members to all the services and benefits provided by the credit union.

Our "once a member, always a member" policy means that as long as $5.00 remains in a share/savings account, credit union membership will be maintained regardless of career changes or relocation. Immediate family members are also eligible to join. They include: children, step-children, parents, step-parents, siblings, step-siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren.

The credit union’s field of membership is limited to those employed by companies that are a part of our Select Employee Group. The credit union is seeking new employee groups. If your company does not have a credit union, please contact us.
